InterCall Phone Registration
Founded in 1991, InterCall is the largest privately held conference services provider in the world. The company serves more than 120,000 individual conference leaders in more than 30,000 organizations.


InterCall's phone operators have the daunting task of taking conference registrations, over the phone, hundreds of times each day, for any of dozens of different scheduled events. It is vital that the operators be able to assist their client in as short a time as possible, while maintaining the highest level of accuracy. IPC was asked to develop a registration tool that would meet several requirements.

Operators need to quickly and easily view all currently-running events and their capacities. If an event is full, they need to recommend an alternate date or time to the caller. Certain questions are tagged as being required, and the operator needs the ability to provide a confirmation number and message at the end.


Rising to the challenge, IPC created a robust, relational database that would accept event and registrant information. This was supplemented with a clean, intuitive user interface that would allow operators to process registrants quickly and efficiently. Administrative tools facilitate the maintenance of event listings and spoken operator prompts. The system is smart enough to know when events are full or registrations are no longer accepted. Visual cues give the operator all the information they need to convey event status to the caller and complete the registration process. The report generator is used to gauge system efficiency and provide billing guidelines. This application also allows operators to interface with the Web Registration system.
